A Well Trained Dog – New Beginnings Dog Training Blog

What is your idea of a well trained dog?  I think my idea of a well trained might be more specific than what others think.  For some a well trained dog is one that can greet their owner joyfully when they come home from work and go for a walk around the neighborhood without much effort. Another person might consider a well trained dog is one that allows guests and family to come over without any confrontation and greets them happily.

My point is everyone has different expectations for their dog.  What I choose to live with concerning my dogs might be totally unacceptable for someone else. It is up to each one of us to decide what behavior is acceptable in our dogs.  Training maybe needed to change behaviors that have developed.  Perhaps its not long term training that is needed or lengthy classes but something simpler. Maybe our dog’s behavior is affecting how we live our lives or can’t live.  Think about it.
