About New Beginnings Dog Training

Let me introduce myself!

Let me introduce you to who I am. I am the trainer and owner of New Beginnings Dog Training and Behavior. I have 10+ years of experience training dogs in homes as well as group settings.

I am a family dog trainer, meaning I chose to focus on the problem behaviors everyone experiences living with their dogs. It is not uncommon for owners to change the way they live their lives because of the poor behavior of their pet. This may include barking and jumping to leash pulling and counter surfing.

I am a balanced trainer. This means I believe in rewards through praise and food but I also believe that dogs need to be told no when they exhibit bad behavior. Dogs need to be held accountable when breaking the rules of a known command.

A number of tools may be used in the training process. Food, long lines, slipleads, prong collars and low level remote collars. Each situation is different and will be evaluated.

I am a proud member of the International Association of Canine Professionals. Founded in 1999, the IACP was established to develop and promote the highest standards of professional and business practice among canine professionals.

I continue to further my education through classes and seminars, completing the following:

T/3 Train The Trainers Program – Comprehensive training by leading US trainers
Sean O’Shea, Jeff Gellman and Tori Smith
RV Dog Training by Jeff Gellman of Solid K9 Training
Mango Dogs Shadow program by Ted Efthymiadis, Halifax Nova Scotia

I have 2 dogs that I live with; they are not CEO’s but rather CET’s (Chief Executive Terriers) to assist me.

I have always had a love of animals, crazy about horses at a young age I now pursue my love of canines to make them better partners with their owners.
